Anti Aging
and Botox
Aging is a very
natural process that brings about many changes in our
bodies – including our appearance. As we grow older many
of us notice that we gain weight, lose muscle tone, our
hair turns gray and we see our skin go through many
changes. Those changes include wrinkles and
lines.
It is inevitable
that we will show some signs of aging as we get older. As
a matter of fact, due to pollution and the thinning of
the ozone layer people are beginning to notice signs of
aging earlier in life than perhaps ever
before.
Most of us do not
enjoy looking old so we do what we can to post-pone the
aging – or at least the appearance of aging. That
includes the use of makeup, haircolor, creams, diets of
all sorts, and even surgery.
A recent trend is
that of using Botox injections to ward off wrinkles. As
you’ve probably heard Botox treatment is the controlled
injection of the formula into particular areas of the
skin that are wrinkled. Some have referred to this as
‘selective paralyzation’. The injections effectively
serve to prevent an area from moving while seeming to
fill the lines – the result is smooth and wrinkle-free
skin.
The cost for these
injections is affordable to most but a drawback is that
the process is not permanent, hence the procedure will
need to be repeated if one is to maintain the youthful
appearance. Additional concerns related to various
disorders and diseases also exist. Botox is
dangerous for anyone with neuromuscular disorders or
cardiovascular diseases.
Common
side-effects include: respiratory infections, nausea,
headaches, temporary eyelid drop, and even flu
syndrome. Regardless of the side-effects – which
are not always present, Botox seems to be gaining in
popularity. Just as with everything else, where there is
a demand there will be a product. At this moment it
seems that Botox may be a product of choice for many
wishing to fight the age battle.
